PC Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting a personal computer can be easy as pie if you know what to look for and what to do. The first thing to do with a problematic computer would be to step back and analyze the problem step by step. Do you have power to the CPU/monitor? If that is a yes then you turn to the PC itself by asking if the Power supply turns on. If it doesn’t, then that might be at fault. You can also check the power chord for fraying or shorting and try replacing it with another and see if it works. If that still is a yes, then does the motherboard power up with the usual beep/beeps. Then so on and so forth, and as one can see, troubleshooting it is as easy as following some basic sequence of events. In the next chapters we will discuss further some of the more common motherboard problems and possible solutions.
